This FAQ explains how the S20 intermittent bowl sand mixer prepares resin sand, how the S202J and S206J models differ, and which feeding, dosing, control and inquiry details matter for a foundry purchase.
The S20 series is an intermittent bowl-type sand mixer for resin sand molding and core making. The S202J and S206J models provide different batch capacities, productivities, mixing times and motor powers for foundry production planning.
The S20 series prepares self-hardening resin sand and cold-box core sand. It mixes sand with resin binders and curing agents for foundry molding and core-making work. Its applications include cast steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metal foundries.
Each batch is mixed in a spherical container. Two horn blades continuously flip the sand and push it toward a reflective baffle in the upper hemisphere. This movement helps distribute sand, resin binders and curing agents evenly. The bowl-type chamber also minimizes friction damage to the sand grains during mixing.
The S202J has a maximum batch capacity of 30 kg, productivity of 2 t/h, a sand mixing time of 30 to 45 seconds and a 4 kW motor. The S206J has a maximum batch capacity of 100 kg, productivity of 6 t/h, a sand mixing time of 50 to 60 seconds and a 7.5 kW motor.
A foundry planning smaller resin-sand batches can assess the S202J. A production line requiring the larger batch capacity can assess the S206J. Compare the batch size, mixing time and target throughput with the actual sand recipe and production schedule before selecting a model.
Yes. The S20 series can be configured with automatic sand feeding systems, liquid material dosing pumps and electronic controls. Automatic sand feeding and liquid material injection are available options for a workflow that connects the mixer with molding or core-making equipment.
Include the target model, required batch capacity, resin-sand application, desired mixing time, motor power and preferred automation arrangement. Also send the sand and binder process, target throughput, and whether automatic sand feeding, liquid dosing or electronic controls are required. These details give Yonghong Machinery Group Co., Ltd. the information needed to review the requested configuration.
