The casting industry in Palestine is currently characterized by a mix of traditional artisanal workshops and emerging medium-scale enterprises. Due to geographical constraints and limited raw material access, local manufacturers often struggle with inconsistent mold quality and high scrap rates in black metal casting.
There is a growing demand for high-precision components, necessitating a shift from green sand to resin coated sand to achieve better dimensional stability. However, the adoption of such materials is often hindered by a lack of integrated equipment and technical expertise in chemical bonding agents.
Furthermore, the reliance on manual labor for post-casting processes makes cast iron finishing a significant bottleneck, limiting the ability of Palestinian foundries to compete in high-end international markets for automotive or industrial machinery parts.
